Quarantine: Day 5

The Powered Up ap is slowly picking up speed. After the addition of multi hub support as week as support for the Control+ hub, the latest update of the app announces it is now possible to communicate with the "old" Power Functions elements.

"How?" you may ask. Well, it turns out the Boost Colour and Distance sensor can emit IR signals! The app now includes a couple of new blocks related to this functionality

Jorge Pereira has a headstart and already managed to show how this new functionality can be used:

The information needed to figure out what commands to use to control your Power Functions elements appear in the Power Functions communication protocol that you can find on Philo’s website

But wait! There’s more! The latest version of the app also allows you to connect your Powered Up remote and reprogram the buttons (while connected to the app).

Now that we are in lockdown there is plenty of time to investigate what this means.
