Set Review ➟ 42104 Race Truck

I’m not usually a big fan of pull-back motor sets. They are usually quite simple sets (which means few mechanisms) and unattractive for an adult fan. This year, however, the sets of this type that LEGO brings to the market seem to me more attractive. Let’s start with the 42104 Race Truck.

This truck model already starts out with two advantages: its attractive colour and the fact that it includes an accessory: a finish line.

Although there are really few additional pieces, the flags make it very eye-catching. In addition, this finish line invites you to play and challenges yourself to pass through it from as far away as possible, giving the set more purpose.

The truck has a good acceleration, but it is important to adjust the spacing well and place the tyres correctly on the front hubs to ensure that it really moves in a straight line.

With a width of 9 studs, the truck is robust and fits perfectly in a child’s hand.

Not many moving parts are expected in models of this size. Even so, the truck has doors that open and a hood that can be lifted!

There are alternative instructions for this model, but they were not yet available at the time of writing. On the back of the box you can see how the truck can be turned into a spectacular Formula 1 car
