Who are the LCP?

LCP or LEGO Certified Professionals are a community of talented builders who have taken their hobby to the next level. As explained by LEGO themselves, they are part of “a community-based program made up of adult LEGO hobbyists who have turned their passion for building and creating with LEGO bricks into a full-time or part-time profession.”

While LEGO Certified Professionals are not LEGO employees, they go through a vetting program and are are officially recognized by the LEGO Group as trusted business partners. Periodically LEGO will reach out to find new LCP to fill the need of a certain market and select the best candidate based on a number of criteria.

Some of these criteria include:

In HispaBrick Magazine 028 we interviewed one of the LCP, Dirk
Denoyelle
, who is based in Belgium and he provided some interesting insights into how he became an LCP and what his work involves. Before that, in HispaBrick Magazine 019 we had already interviewed Nathan Sawaya who is also part of this program.

Currently there are 19 LCP. 5 of those are in the Entry Program and the remaining 14 are in the LCP program. If you are curious to know the names and locations of the LCP, the following map provided by LEGO will satisfy some of your curiosity.
