Set Review ➟ LEGO® 11507 - Olivia Rodrigo's flower bouquet
We’ve received a set dedicated to the young star Olivia Rodrigo. I have to admit I had no idea who she was until I looked her up online. It’s remarkable to see an artist with such maturity at such a young age, yet already firmly established on the world stage. The set belongs to the Editions range and it isn’t the only one dedicated to the artist. It contains exactly 400 pieces, is priced at €44.99 and is recommended for builders aged 9+. This blog will also feature several posts covering a variety of Olivia Rodrigo sets, ranging from a guitar with playable interior details to a keepsake box. I’ve had the chance to see them all and they are genuinely wonderful. I’d say this is the simplest of the lot, but it is no less worthy of a closer look for both its aesthetics and its building techniques. Here’s the set.
I’m sure we’ll come across a few surprises along the way. The contents are fairly modest, but just seeing those bright green axles already has me intrigued. Let’s get started!
According to the official website, the set recreates a bouquet of 11 flowers, including a purple rose, a Cape daisy, a hellebore and vervain. It also includes references to the actress and singer’s life, such as purple guitars, red cherries, yellow stars, hearts and black butterflies. It’s clear that everything has been chosen with purpose and that no part has been included at random. The first build already tells us a great deal about that. The technique itself is simple and straightforward, although the parts used to achieve it are anything but. Who would have thought of using purple guitars like this?
The following sub-builds include some lovely details, such as the bee collecting nectar. I absolutely love it!
The rose has an impressive petal shaping technique built around a 2x2 round brick. Need I say more?
A pair of butterflies adds a touch of life to the bouquet.
Overall, this is a small bouquet that is very easy to build, featuring a number of interestingly coloured parts and some beautiful details that really enhance the finished model. The set will appeal to fans of the Botanicals line, as it includes several flower variations that do not appear in other sets in the range. Naturally, Olivia Rodrigo fans will also appreciate a lovely set that is very much in keeping with what this international star represents.
