Set Review ➟ LEGO® 75448 - Clone shock trooper mech
I’m not really a fan of these mechs, to be honest, but I also recognise that they always have some interesting touch, so it’s always fine to build a few of them. This time we’re looking at set 75448 Clone Shock Trooper Mech, a set with 151 pieces and a minifigure that isn’t new.
A few bags, which are still plastic, a manual, and we have it built in no time.
I’d say the clone is identical to the one from the latest Republic gunship.
The mech speaks for itself. It’s not intricate for a 6+ set, with an easy modular build, a good shape for its minimal size, as well as solid construction and full playability.
I admit that going out the Star Wars universe a mech can be quite fun in almost any context, but within Star Wars it really doesn’t fit at all. Leaving that controversial point aside, it’s undoubtedly a very fun and sturdy toy – it’s been tested by my son! The parts selection includes some attractive pieces; in my case, the shoulder pads and boots, crotch piece, shin guards… all in all, it has a selection that I really like.
