Set Review ➟ LEGO® 71049 - Formula 1 collection
Last year the LEGO group already “warned” with some Formula 1 models but it is undoubtedly this year when it has a great focus on it. There are sets for adults and others more childish and simple, but no less surprising for that. Let's talk about the set that concerns us, the 71049. It is marketed in collectible mode in the style already well known of the minifigures, each one of them at 3,99€. I admit that I am not even a fan of F1... but I am a fan of LEGO models! Let's take a look at this cute collection of F1 cars. As you can see the box format is collectible minifigures.

This collection consists of 12 different vehicles that are really cute, absolutely playable because they do not disassemble easily and the feeling when playing with them is very good, good tire grip and very easy grip with the hands. In them we will recognize teams such as Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, etc.. Before I used the term surprising, because that's how I felt when I checked a good handful of new references and printed parts ... on all models!

If you notice there is a kind of “jumper” for heads, or a tube in the shape of “C” ... and all the tires are also printed! The construction of the car is very simple, however we are talking about ages 6 years and older, so some of the smaller parts may cause some frustration to place them by the little ones at home. The central structure of the vehicle is practically the complete model. Some slopes, dots, cheeses and some very small sets of parts and that's it, the model is ready to run!.

There is no mystery, the entire collection is the repetition of the same model in all its steps, except for the colors and printed parts so there is nothing more to comment on that aspect. But aren't they cool?

The car set is obviously childish, but looking at it through a more adult prism we could use it as a go-kart on a small circuit, couldn't we? Perhaps the only negative point is that there are no minifigures, which is something we would have appreciated as we love building and we love minifigures too! We thank LEGO for sending the set for review in this article. LEGO does not endorse or support the opinions expressed in this article in any way as they are ours alone.
