40755 - Imperial dropship vs rebel scout speeder
Well, here comes a set that is set up for a small battle between rebels and imperials. A set that will be available in early October, with 6 minifigures and one exclusive. A plus that this time comes in the form of a pink droid, QT-KT. Where does this droid come from? This character is the result of a father's love for his sick daughter and his love of Star Wars. For those who want to know more, there are many pages on the internet about it, one example is https://www.thepinkforce.org/. It is wonderful to know that people combine effort and enthusiasm to fight against cancer in many possible ways. In Spain we have the version of R2-KT that comes from this same current, from this same force.
The contents are 6 numbered plastic bags, a couple of manuals without QR and a sticker sheet. On this occasion the manuals are not in a cardboard folder so they arrive crumpled and this will make the construction of the set quite difficult.
We start with the imperial part. The small ship is configured in 2 halves that clip together weakly but are 100% functional. This is because one of the parts will be removable so that it can be deposited in the midst of battle.
Now we will build the engines and give it vertical mobility. Also in this bag we build another stormtropper.
In this final section the front part is made and it fits perfectly. However, I warn you that it has no mobility whatsoever. I thought it would move a bit but the truth is that it doesn't and it's certainly better this way.
The implementation of the rebel speeder is perhaps simpler and more trivial in these steps. I love the nose. The combination of both curved and normal slopes looks phenomenal. The first rebel comes on the scene.
This part of the car is very well rounded. The detail of the coolers in different greys and the engines look great. Two more figures join the party, a veteran and a rookie judging by their faces.
We finish the set by building the turret with a few simple connections of parts. Perfect mobility and result.
In both ships a part of them is extracted. On the rebel ship, the part of the stormtroopers is extracted to be deposited in the battle zone as mentioned above. Its counterpart is the rebel turret. The result is very playable. Certainly with a few of these sets a perfect diorama of considerable size could be assembled.
A set with a small but successful scene. An excellent number of figures, the droid exclusive is a marvel, perhaps very very appealing to the vast majority of fans. Without a doubt it is a set to have several units and build a first class scene. We are grateful to LEGO for providing the set for this article, although LEGO certainly does not endorse or support the opinions expressed in this article in any way possible.
