Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76273 - Batman construction figure and the Bat-Pod bike

This time we are going to build a bat-pod and a buildable Batman figure. These sets are not really my cup of tea but you always learn something with the construction of any set, plus we might see some new reference or a new colour in an existing one, for sure! This set is a 12+, with 713 pieces and a price of 74,99€ on the official LEGO website.

The question that has me intrigued is how will this buildable figure look next to the 1989 Batmobile? We shall see. This time it will be 6 paper bags, 2 manuals and a sticker sheet.

Let's start with the figure and more specifically with the torso. It has hardly any substance, inverted slopes at the back, side brackets, some bricks with kneecaps and the chest pieces printed -not bad- with the bat. Here you can see the detail of how the chest is attached to the torso.

We finished this bag by making the hips. The trunk is not bad, it looks uniform.

Below are the 3 parts of the lower limbs. They look horrendous to me. The thighs are short, the bottoms, calves and shins look huge in comparison. Thank goodness the last of the feet are not too bad. These have a headlight in the middle. As a whole I'm not happy with them. You can judge for yourselves. However, you have to wait until the figure is finished to see it as a whole.

The arms are better made, more balanced although the hands are quite big too.

The head is certainly very well fitted with the bat ears. Once you have seen the whole figure, it looks like everything is more balanced. Also the cape conceals those legs that make the figure look a bit long. What do you think in the end?

Now it's time for the Bat-pod. We start with some technic bricks and around them we attach a structure with arms and brackets. Then we work a bit on the width, finishing with curved slopes. In this last part it is very nice that the construction is asymmetrical.

En la siguiente sección el carenado del pod me parece sublime.

I love the fit of the wheel to the frame, as well as some of the details and the way the parts fit together. Next up are the bat-pod weapons, an exercise in engineering technic!

What comes next is undoubtedly the best. The rear part where the rear wheel is located is still a precision technic framework. The part where the footrests will be located has a stud, can you imagine what for? The driving dummies are incredible? but positioning Batman in the Bat-pod is an indescribable pleasure! Look at the details of how he clips each hand to the corresponding handle. The feet already mentioned have a brick headlight so that they clip to a stud on each footrest. In this way a surprising solidity is achieved. The position of the figure is very well indicated in the instruction manual. We understand that this is because it is not as trivial as it seems. Nor is it impossible for a somewhat experienced builder.

And here is the visual answer to the question we asked at the beginning of the article as to whether the scale of Batman and the 1989 Batmobile would correspond somewhat. I leave it to the reader to find their own answer.

A set to take into account if you are a fan of Batman, motorbikes in this scale or AFOL in general, because it's awesome! We thank LEGO for providing this set for this review, although LEGO does not endorse or support the opinions expressed in this review in any way possible.
