Set Review ➟ LEGO® 75344-Boba Fett's Starship

This set of Boba Fett's Slave I ship has 80 pieces and costs 9,99€. As far as I can see the minifigure on bricklink appears with the reference sw1245 and it only appears in one set. It is actually sw1158 but without the antenna piece. Some fans argue that the mere fact of having some difference as in this case does not make it a different figure, it is clear that it is not, but at least in my particular case I am clear that for the collector that difference is vital. Undoubtedly it opens a certain controversy among AFOLS collectors. I'm a bit of a purist in this respect, even though they only have one antenna, for me they are different minifigures, so everything is fine by me, but not for my pocket }:P. Well, let's get down to the nitty-gritty, which is what we like, connecting pieces and enjoying our great hobby. Here you can see the box of the set and its contents.

As always, I like to start with the minifigure as indicated in the instructions. Some people save them for last.

I imagine that you have also thought that the big handicap in this kind of sets is to get the most reliable shape in which the minifigure fits. It is really not a simple exercise and the final result in this case is perfect. The construction of the set is divided into 2 main sections which are the base of the ship and the tail. Then the wings and some decorative pieces are added.

No technique to highlight, but the final result. Very very fine for such a small space. The Slave I is totally recognisable, it's compact, it doesn't come apart easily when playing. It has been tested by the best tester in the world, a two and a half year old child, and all the parts are in place. The wings can be moved and give the ship a normal docking position as well as in flight mode.

The set is an uncomplicated set, suitable for all ages. It has a very good exploded view, especially the pieces in sand green, dark green and dark red. The minifigure is a marvel to look at.
