Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76421 - Dobby the house-elf

Aha! Here we have another new set from the new batch of June this year. This time it's 76421, Dobby the elf. A set with 430 pieces and a price of 29.99€. Again a similar set to the 76414, I mean it's more of an exhibition set than a playable set, but of course it all depends on the person who has it in his hands :). Here you can see the box of the set.

In the instruction manual along with the 3 bags of contents and a few stickers we can see that we can also build a cake made with the magic of the elf slaves, which is not seen in the box as you already know that he has the book with the sock that frees him from his slavery.

First of all, we will construct this sock. It's no big deal, and on closer inspection I don't know if I would have been able to recognise the object outside this context.

Dobby's trunk and legs are nothing special. The detail of Dobby's hidden heart is very cool... :)

The construction of arms and hands is simple but it looks good. At the moment it is a very very flat figure.

Second bag and we see 2 very interesting references. These LEGO guys have already got us used to a huge myriad of references every year... impossible to keep up to date :O.

In the next part, I am particularly interested in the feet and the head. The latter is excellent in my opinion. The expression, the ears and the technique of inserting the eyes won me over. With this, we have finished Dobby's figure.

Now it's the turn of the display stand, the cake and of course, the Riddle book. There are no techniques here except to say that the stand looks great and of course the reference 6372045 has a lot to do with the finish. This is a nice set for what it represents for Harry Potter fans. As I already mentioned, the technique used on the head is brickhead style and I certainly liked it a lot, especially the placement of those cute eyes, what a happy face Dobby has with his sock!

We are grateful to LEGO for making this set available for review in this article, although LEGO neither endorses nor supports the opinions expressed herein.
