Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76416-Quidditch trunk

In this new article we will show you the set 76416 - Quidditch trunk. An eminently playable set in which we will be able to play 3 games well described in the history of the magical world of Hogwarts. Of course, we are talking about Quidditch. This set is presented to us as a game chest or trunk, it looks good. Let's get to it.

We are presented with the contents in 7 bags, the construction manual, 2 green 8x8 plates and a huge sticker sheet which unfortunately I predict a lot of frustration for many children and not so many children :(. On the other hand I also see some particularly tasty new references.

First of all, the striking thing about the set is the number of heads with dual faces and interchangeable hair. It is obvious that this is to be able to play with everyone in the game. It's a good idea that will allow us to recreate our favourite scenes from this story. Personally I would have preferred a more expensive set but with many more torsos and legs as this time we only get 1 torso per school and 4 legs in tan. The new reference to use them with capes and to attach them to the torso seems to me to be a good choice, they are beautiful references.

Well, we assembled our protagonists from each school. The truth is that the capes with this piece look great.

In this first section we will build an armoury with playing utensils, as well as the banners of the four schools.

We start with the game chest. It has an interesting construction on the back where the opening hinges are located using a SNOT technique with a bracket as a base. Then you can see in the pictures how the set is taking shape.

The third bag is just a handful of pieces to simulate the playing field on the base of the copper and put some hinges on its side.

Boom! Explosion of new references.

Very interesting construction attached to the hinges. We'll see what these curious openings are for.

A few more pieces and we have a pretty advanced chest shape. I'm really liking this set.

Doubt solved, the openings were for the insertion of the simple system that will provide movement in the defence of the game. Thanks to this we will be able to move the minifigures in the three types of Quidditch game.

A few more coatings on the sides and the set is almost complete.

Now we are going to finish with the objects of the set as well as the ornaments and some details that have made me breathe easy. You may have wondered if the set is going to be left with that hole that we have never filled in, as it will leave the chest with one of its walls completely open. Rest assured, it is precisely the armourer that we built at the beginning of the set. As you can see in the two images below, it is inserted into the playing field, the flags are folded and the chest is perfectly sealed. Wonderful!

And here playing a little bit between these irreconcilable enemies :).

This set, which at first didn't catch my attention, has completely caught it. I find it a beautiful set, both for the techniques developed as well as the gameplay that develops in it. It is true that it is very very difficult to protect and easy to score points, but that's the way the game is. The feeling I get from the set is very good, it has a great quartering, a spectacular display of figures although in this regard I wish they had added some more torsos, but it makes sense that only four torsos come given the small size of the playing field, so it is obvious why it is made this way. It's a one-on-one duel. All in all a very beautiful and well thought out set, definitely a must have for Harry Potter fans, big and small. We thank LEGO for providing the set for review in this article, although LEGO neither endorses nor supports the opinions expressed in this article.
