Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76415-The battle of Hogwarts
We continue our series of reviews of some of the new Harry Potter sets. This time it's the turn of set 76415 - The Battle of Hogwarts. All Harry Potter fans are well aware of the scenes this set refers to, which culminate in the battle between Harry and Voldemort. On the back of the box we can see that it will be a very playable set, with "deconstructable" areas to give the feeling of chaos and destruction that happens in this part of the story. Also some of the stickers are designed for both environments, that is, before and after the battle. The characterisation of some of the characters seems impeccable to me, but let's not get ahead of ourselves please? The set has 730 pieces, 6 minifigures and a price of 79.99€. As we already mentioned, it will be available in the LEGO catalogue from June. Let's take a look at the box of the set.
The set is divided into 5 numbered bags, plus two more for each colour of the spells that Harry and Voldemort will cast, as well as the instruction manual and on this occasion, and unfortunately for me, a sticker sheet.
I see there is a new reference that together with the medieval type frame I predict great uses in this theme. If it hasn't already been done I hope it comes out soon in both greys :)
The first minifigure is Harry with his trademark "lightning bolt" on his forehead.
The construction of the central part is based on making 2 stackable cubes. The thing starts to take shape and in these steps there is nothing remarkable in terms of techniques. The aesthetics of course are totally Hogwarts.
In the next part comes the second figure, Voldemort. I love the torso and skirt, it's perfect for some MOC in a medieval setting ;).
As you can see this part is also an adjoining block to the previous one, there is nothing remarkable in this part either.
In the next steps we will build another dueling couple, Mrs. Weasley and Bellatrix. Weasley's costume is spectacular, but I think Bellatrix's costume is a bit poor, I didn't print the skirt part, it would have been much better. Of course, the hair is exuberant and also very beautiful. We also checked a new reference, in this case a 1x2 tile round... strange to say that it's round but at the same time elongated, isn't it?
Well, the construction follows in the wake of more of the same. If instead of the sticker they had made a printed brick it would be great, but well... it is what it is. The attachment of this area to the central area doesn't convince me at all, it has a lot of holes and it certainly looks poor, with the feeling of being little :|.
Penultimate bag and we find Neville with one of the relics and Nagini. Here we will again build another Hogwarts block somewhat symmetrical to the one in bag two, except basically in that one there was a fireplace and in this one there is a table with a cup and saucer which I have allowed myself the licence to make it a candle.
And here we are, in the last bag and starting with the minifigure. I love this Scabior figure, the costume is fantastic.
The last part of the set is practically a copy of the symmetrical part as you can see in the final scene.
This is obviously a very playable set, with a very good set, and the minifigures are excellent, especially those of Scabior, Voldemort and Mrs. Weasley. There is not much to comment on the set in general, very easy to build and hardly any ideas or techniques to surprise us. We are grateful to LEGO for providing the set for review in this new article, LEGO neither endorses nor supports the opinions expressed here.
