Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76915 Pagani Utopia

Our first review in of the new Speed Champions series for this wave is for the 76915 Pagani Utopia. I was drawn to the design of this car but at the same time I had my misgivings about the LEGO rendering, mostly because the car is built in what at first glance looked like boring Dark Blueish Grey (DBG). Could a supercar in the Speed Champions line-up look good in such a plain colour?

Not being much of a car buff I decided to look up the model this set is inspired on. There is a small picture on the back of the box already to give you some idea, but it felt like too little to go on for me. After looking at some more detailed pictures of the car I was pleasantly surprised to see how close the LEGO rendering reflects the shape of the original model.

The next step of course was to build the model and see if the building experience also lived up to my hopes and expectations. I was not disappointed! All the Speed Champions models in this wave are built in two stages (bags 1 and 2). The first thing I noticed was the new chassis element.

This provides some outstanding possibilities to build with offset. In the image below, a 6-long plate has been placed along the width of the chassis. Next to that two jumper plates are used to align a 4-long plate perfectly. The remaining open studs in the bottom of the chassis are at a half stud offset.

Stage 1 is building the rear axle and includes an interesting build used to place the rear of the car at precisely the right angle.

I also liked the contrasting leather seats.

After finishing the second bag the completed model looks really attractive, and another printed element, a 2x2 round tile, perfectly represents the characteristic exhaust of the Pagani Utopia.

Looking at the bottom of the car you can see how the new chassis element integrates into the build and provides the perfect ground clearance.

I chose not to apply any of the stickers. To be honest there is a very modest amount of stickers in this set and I love the look of the car without them. I am thrilled to soo the headlights are printed elements. Those really bring out the looks of the car and would not work without printing or stickers.

We would like to thank LEGO for providing this set. They do however not endorse nor approve our personal opinion as expressed in this review.>
