Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76917-Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)

LEGO brings us this new review in which we will have the great opportunity to enjoy again building a new Speed Champions set, Paul Walker's Nissan Skyline GT-R! This set includes 319 pieces, a minifigure of the late actor and a price of 24,99€.

The content is presented in only 2 numbered bags, a specific plate as we have already found in this line in some previous reviews, the construction manual and a sheet with 22 stickers no more and no less, some of them quite small in a 1x2 tile size.

We started and mounted the main character. We also found out that the mudguards are printed references, so we didn't have to apply stickers in a rather difficult area - thank goodness!

Here is the initial part that begins the construction of the Nissan, which corresponds to the rear of the vehicle as well as the detail of the number plate. How these three parts fit together is pure "Legonian" engineering to the millimetre.

The construction continues to add proportions and unfortunately stickers, at the end of the bag we find that we are left with a fairly consistent rear block of the vehicle where 5 stud plates and a width of almost 9 studs of the vehicle have prevailed.

In the last bag we find new colours, in this case chrome, and a printed piece. Cool :).

We start with the seat and the parts that make up the "nitro".

We continue with the interior of the vehicle. The doors are "built" with 2x6 tiles and stickers, they are not hinged so it's something that really detracts from the playability, although the technique is simple using bricks with studs on one side, it looks good and it's easy to do.

But let's not kid ourselves, the vehicle has a multitude of little touches of genius inside, a multitude of "happy ideas" that are difficult to come up with and unbeatable solutions.

I find a 1x3 plate in black printed :). This front block where the radiators are located is a real eye catcher. Very good the ingenuity to attach it to the rest of the vehicle. The downside of this part is that I found it totally impossible to align the stickers to the 1x3 panels. Very difficult to fit.

Finally with the spoiler and windows in place the model looks amazing, Brian O'Conner is ready to drift! The impression the model gives us is of course of a quite impeccable technique where the need to work small and complicated things shines through. Without any doubt this is a model to have in our collection, either because you like the car, or because of the minifigure collections of famous people, or because of the techniques it hides, but I hope it is not because of the amount of stickers it has.

We thank LEGO for sending this set for review in this article. The opinions expressed in this article are ours alone, and LEGO does not endorse or support them in any way.
