Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76191 Infinity Gauntlet

In this review we will build Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet, typified by the set number 76191 and with 590 construction parts. But... what is the Infinity Gauntlet? It is the left gauntlet of Thanos, the well-known Marvel character. What makes this gauntlet special is that Thanos added the infinity gems to it. With it this character gets to have total control over some aspects of the multiverse such as time, space, mind, power, soul and reality. As you can see, it is not a small or insignificant weapon and it is highly coveted.

For Marvel and LEGO fans this is definitely a super item to have in the display cabinets. For the lesser Marvel but LEGO fans it provides a number of references in a very succulent gold ABS as well as other new colours.

Let's see what the journey of this new construction will bring. On the box we can already see that the object comes with a stand and an identification plate, at first glance in the style of a UCS but in miniature size. :).

The contents of the set are presented in 3 numbered bags and the construction manual, this time no stickers which is appreciated. In the manual we can read a very brief text by the designer Carter Luce Baldwin. One of the goals he had in mind when designing the set is that the fingers of the glove could make the terrible and famous 'snap' of Thanos, which activates the power of the glove.

The construction of bag 1 starts by creating the base and a small part of the inside of the gauntlet. In this section it is quite clear what the technique of creating the gauntlet, brackets and plates with clips of various types around the base will be based on.

In bag number 2 we will start to touch on those gold pieces that are such a treat and that make the construction a brilliant piece worthy of exhibition for any hobbyist. Here there are simple but aesthetically excellent construction steps. The fit of the glove parts is very, very fine, simply perfect.

Finally we have reached bag number 3 and here we will develop the palm and the back of the hand as well as the fingers. The best thing about this part is the implementation and mobility of the fingers. It might seem that a priori the fingers cannot be separated like the thumb.

But that's why we have this very useful part in the constructions with reference 26047 according to bricklink. Et voilá! The fingers have mobility similar to that of a hand. It is fantastic that it is possible to adopt more or less real shapes of a hand, although it obviously has its limitations, this has been achieved very well.

Personally I think it lacks a Thanos minifigure in the set as well as other sets that have been typified for adults but from other lines. It is definitely a set for adults, this is not a playable set, it is 100% for exhibition. Without a doubt this is a recommended set for several reasons, the first one is that if you are a big Marvel fan it is to own.... Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet! The second one is that if you are a model builder avid of pieces in uncommon colours as in this case, don't hesitate and get it, the golden pieces you will find in it are very tasty as well as other references in new colours. The third reason is the set of techniques that can be learned in this model. As you have seen above, it is a construction that is firm, without gaps and beautifully made. A beautiful set for any hobbyist.

We thank LEGO for making the set available for review in this medium. The opinions expressed in this review are ours alone, and LEGO neither endorses nor supports them in any way.
