Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76177 Battle at the ancient village

In this review we present the set 76177 Battle at the ancient village of the superhero Shang-Chi. From the appearance of the main character you can already tell that he knows martial arts. I am an avid reader of comics and manga, but I admit that my subject is not superheroes, so in this case my ignorance led me to think that in this case it was a rather new character, one of those taken out of the sleeve and without much substance to make money. Well no, Shang-Chi was born in December 1973 no less, and that's where I was right, he is a martial arts expert :). In this film his story is told and of course it has an oriental, mystical, family style... So, what is a classic Chinese film.

In the set and without going into too many spoilers, the scene of the family battle in the ancient village is detailed. Without further ado, let's enjoy the construction and what we find in it. In the following image you can see the front of the set box and its contents.

The contents are divided into 3 numbered bags, plus a small bag with effect parts, the construction manual and also a sticker sheet.

In Bag 1 we will build the base of the dragon and part of it, as well as obtain the figures of Shang-Chi's sister, Xialing and Morris.

In bag 2 we will be able to give a more defined shape to the dragon with the tail and the arms with its terrible claws. The mobility of the claws will allow you to play and even catch minifigures, which gives it a very playable utility. The minifigure that will come in this bag will be the Death Dealer.

In bag 3 we will finalise the construction by creating what for me is undoubtedly the best part of the set. Here we will create a slender and beautiful dragon head with only a few pieces, the design and execution is enviable. I love the detail. We will also get Shang-Chi and his father Wenwu.

I didn't know the pieces that detail the water splashes on the base of the dragon which have a couple of holes to play with them in different ways, comparing them with the ones I did know from the effects bag, the new ones will be more useful to incorporate them to our creations, realistic or not ;)

The belly of the base of the dragon is SNOT (stud not on top) and from there on if you stretch the body of the dragon you can see that it follows this form of construction. This is a very recommendable set, the head of the dragon has impressed me for the quality of the shape obtained and its set of quite common pieces, except for the eyes which is also a new reference for me. I sincerely believe that the result is great, a playable set, it doesn't disassemble easily which makes it a very pleasant play time and it can be transported from one place to another without any accidents. Of the minifigures in the set, Wenwu's is undoubtedly the most successful, as he has screen-printed legs.
