Set Review ➟ LEGO® 40499 Leco seasonal set

In this review we will build Santa's sleigh with four of his splendid reindeer. This set is inscribed as Lego iconic 40499 and is a "seasonal", in this case for winter lovers it is another special addition. As you can see on the box it has no title or name.

The contents include two bags numbered 1 and two bags numbered 2, plus 4 bagged reindeer, a sticker sheet and of course the construction manual.

It's good news that Santa's gift list comes in print. Besides, the countenance is pleasant and good-natured.

The construction of the number one bags starts with the whole lot of presents that Father Christmas has to work so hard for at Christmas. The truth is that they look really cute once they are made.

And we start the sled! There is nothing remarkable in terms of techniques in the first part of its construction, but I would highlight the spaciousness of the interior as it makes it more playable and therefore more fun.

In the second part of the construction, the curved shape of the sled, the stickers that decorate it and those golden details that enhance it are already taking shape.

Here the detail of the rear drawer is for my taste excellent. It is totally hidden and "secret". Some food is kept there for the reindeer - very little, only one carrot for the four of them!!! - and a pretzel we imagine for Father Christmas. These people work a lot and eat very little. Given these working conditions I think that delivering presents to all the children in the world is too thankless a job!!!

Map of the route our dear Father Christmas has to take to deliver presents around the world in record time.

The final result of the sleigh without the reindeer looks spectacular.

And we finish the construction by hooking the reindeer to the sleigh. The detail of providing the reindeer with the 1x2 brick in medium nougat and its corresponding tile was excellent. So when Santa unhooks his reindeer to give them a rest, they won't be missing a kidney for all the work done :).
