Set Review ➟ LEGO® 75293 Resistance I-TS transport
This time we will have the opportunity to build an Intersystem Transport Ship (I-TS) from the Galaxy'x Edge universe. In case you are not familiar with them, they are Star Wars themed amusement parks located in California and Florida. The former is inside Disneyland Park and the latter is at Disney Hollywood Studios.
Specifically this ship is a Corellian construction and was mainly used for cargo and troop transport over long distances. The construction has 932 pieces in total according to the lego.com website or 905 and 4 minifigures according to bricklink.com. It is rated for ages 9 and up and is priced at 109.99€.
I was curious to know something about the minifigure characters as I honestly didn't know who they were, nor had I heard or read about them before learning about this set. Basically, Vi Moradi was a spy in the resistance before being captured by the first order. It seems that the character can be found in the theme parks in the Galaxy's Edge attraction strolling around. Lieutenant Bek was created explicitly for Star Wars:Rise of Resistance, a Galaxy's Edge attraction, so it is possible that this is the reason why these minifigures have been chosen for this set. Without further ado, let's see what we'll find.
The contents are 8 bags, a construction manual and a sheet with 5 types of stickers.
The ship is built on a purely technical base on which the ship will expand and take shape, the number one bag will take care of this.
From here on there is already a detail that I found interesting to store in memory. Using a couple of 15706 pieces, a wedge plate in the shape of an A, and a couple of technic bricks, I can enlarge the basic structure and make it voluminous as well as quite rigid, thus making the belly of the ship.
Once this part of the structure is finished, we can see that the resulting shape is quite good. I have been able to check that by shaking the construction just by taking it from these extensions it does not disassemble at all. It is completely safe. We will see at the end of the construction of the ship if it still holds the same for future hours of gameplay. :)
Next, the front of the ship's cabin is built. Here we find a detail to remember. Personally I love this kind of details, how they play with the tile and the opening that leaves the corner plate for the insertion and obtain a thinner outline.
Followed by the "ears" where the front guns of the ship are located.
Next we will be shaping the exterior forms of the ship. In this case just the area behind the previously built gunports. Here the shape is good and the three parts fit together very well. It is a pity that the lower part of the ship in this area is bare, as can be seen on the back of the box. Curiously, it is not visible on the front of the box, as you can see in the first image of this review. It is evident that special care has been taken not to show this area when taking the image.
Here is the back of the set box where you can see the nudity in that area of the building.

These kinds of "failures" are not usually well received. The Lego designers have a proven ability to attack this type of design and to be able to mitigate these finishes with a better note. With a wedge plate or perhaps better a corner plate and a couple of Technic 1/2 pins they could have covered up and achieved a better finish with little expense and this being a trivial but poor solution.
Finally we will attack the propulsion part of the ship. A fairly firm rectangular base will be built on which the engines will be hooked, as shown in the image.
The next stage of propulsion will be coupled to the previous base.
It certainly looks good.
The covering of the side doors and the central roof of the nave complete the construction.
The ship is well done although the interiors are conspicuous by their absence, there is no control panel and it is a miracle that a minifigure can fit to drive it, the whole construction is based on simple and clear steps. Some areas are well finished with good and simple techniques. Other areas should have been improved as already mentioned. All in all it is a playful ship and always a fun build. For those who love the Lego Star Wars universe it is a ship to consider. The minifigures are a joy because of the exclusivity of the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge universe. The exploded view is good and the colours reminded me of the Classic Space, may the purists forgive me! :D
As always we thank LEGO for providing the set for review. The opinions expressed in this review are ours alone and LEGO neither endorses nor supports them in any way.
