Set Review ➟ 75305 Star Wars™ Scout Trooper™ Helmet
This set comes in a beautiful box, in very dark colours. It contains several plastic bags with the pieces, a set full of stickers and a small instructions book. As a coment, the box is half empty.
The building process begins with the internal structure of the helmet. From the beginning is very focused on SNOT (stud not on top) techniques. It is a very fast build, very easy to do and just finished in just five minutes. In this first step you can see the actual size of the helmet.
The next step is the top and rear of the helmet. You have to cover the structure with the rear panels, and put the dome of the helmet. Here you have to apply the first of many stickers. This is not an easy task, as there are many parts with the same type of sticker, and is not easy to put them in the same position.
We have to build the stand, and this is one of the best things of the set. It is a very nice stand, just perfect for this set. In this case, it is a nice detail, and the helmet can be placed on the stand very well. There is an axle which allows you to fix the helmet to the stand, but you can forget it and get a detachable helmet if you want. It took me some 10 minutes to reach this point.
Then, we have to add the front part of the helmet, with that peculiar shape of the biker scout helmet. It is very well done, and it resembles perfectly the actual thing.
And finally we add the side parts of the helmet, with the "ears". When you see the full helmet it comes to be a very well done thing. The visual aspect is very nice, and is perfect to be displayed in every Star Wars fan collection.
In order to see how accurate is the LEGO model, I've taken some pictures side to side with a real Biker Scout Helmet, like those ones used by the 501st Legion members. As you can see, for that size is very well done:
The model comes with many stickers, and one printed part, the less important: the model panel of the stand. As there are many stickers with the same design over white parts, they can be easily seen at first sight. I think it would be better to have printed those many parts with the same sticker, and a sticker on the stand panel.
As a final conclusion, it is a very beautiful model, with catches the very shape of the real thing. It is very easy to bulid, no more than 30 minutes. A perfect adition to a Star Wars Collection.
