21325 Medieval Blacksmith announced

Today LEGO officially announces the MEDIEVAL BLACKSMITH (#21325) with a press release and a series of images to show us what this set will look like.

Let's start with the box. It follows the format of the 18+ series sets or "created for AFOLs" and it seems that LEGO has finally decided to keep "Sand Green" for the lower strip of the box. To begin with, the set contains four mini-figures and two animals (a dog and a horse), in addition to the building, and consists of a total of 2164 pieces. It is also worth noting that there is a curious tree next to the smithy, reminiscent of the Bonsai from the new LEGO botanical range.

Better than on the box, you can see the house on a white background in the images provided by LEGO.

The back of the box gives us more clues about the contents of the set. In addition to showing the back of the building, it contains several images of scenes inside, an indication of the set's measurements and a view by floors.

A view by floors? Indeed. The smithy is designed by floors, similar to the modular buildings.

To get an idea of the size of the set there is a sort of blueprint of the building's elevation which indicates that it is 27cm high on a 27cm wide base (this includes the tree).

Let's move on to the interior of the set with the scenes provided on the box. In the first scene (starting at the bottom) you can see the blacksmith working in his forge. The forge is illuminated with the Light Brick that the set includes.

We have an additional image of the blacksmith's workshop that shows some of the tools he has available.

The second image corresponds to the first floor and shows the dining room. It is interesting to see how axes have been used to create the backs of the chairs in addition to the authentic mechanism for moving the pot over the fire.

Finally we arrive to the attic where there is a black bear skin on the floor and it seems that the blacksmith's wife is the author of a book.

Again, we have a clearer image with a white background. We see the blacksmith driving the bellows to stoke the fire and the soldiers' cart of 8 studs wide.

Given what we know of the set to date, there are just a few more details to mention:

The set measures 27 x 27 x 21 cm.

The price of the set is 149.99 USD - 199.99 CAD - 146.99 EUR - 134.99 GBP - 249.99 AUD
