Announcing CREATOR Expert Winter Fire Station (10263)

Back in 2009, LEGO began launching a new theme, twinned with CITY but with very unique features: snow, lots of snow. They were sets that filled a gap in the catalogue, and also became a yearly buzz. Maybe not as much as the modulars, but I know a prominent HBM member who loses his mind every November with these sets. Yes, because these sets start selling at the end of the year, coinciding with the Christmas campaign, guaranteeing lots of sales.

As I said, the general theme is CITY, but with a Christmas focus, and it is varied. For example toy shops, twice, in 2009 - Winter Toy Shop (10199) and 2015 - Winter Toy Shop (10249); a bakery, 2010 - Winter Village Bakery (10216); a post office in 2011 - Winter Village Post Office (10222); a beautiful cottage in 2012 - Winter Village Cottage (10229) and a market in 2013 - Winter Village Market (10235), to me one of the most beautiful to date.

In 2014 we even have Santa's Workshop (10245), with his reindeer and helpers.

In 2016 and 2017 a new option opens, Christmas trains, with the Winter Holiday Train (10254) and the Winter Village Station (10259).

Well, we're still suffering the last throes of summer, but it's getting closer to the end of the year, and we all know what's coming... don't we? Well, yes, and this year there's something new: Christmas firemen! In Spain we don't quite see it, because well, it doesn't really snow that much, but the set is a cutie...

Looking at the box we can see that it exudes something special, like its predecessors. The aesthetics of these sets are very well thought out. The contents are full of details and minifigs. 1166 pieces, 6 minifigs, a beautiful dalmatian and a babyfig.

The fire station is small, nothing to do with other sets that come to mind right now, but the policy of these sets is precisely that: the buildings are small, but in general they are very nice sets, very special, with many minifigs that ensure playability.

The somewhat rustic or vintage vehicle looks great in this set. The fountain is very well done, although a bit small for the skier. The baby is very curious, with such a small piece the result is very good. Babyfig?...I'm going to patent that...

Here in Spain it will be available for the modest price of €99.99 from 1 October (the holidays are coming early, guys...).
