Book Review: LEGO® Star Wars The Dark Side

The human condition normally makes the people to be near of the “good guys”. But one of the many special features of the fan phenomenon of Star Wars is the Dark Side fans. With Darth Vader in front of this people, the fans of the Dark Side do a lot of tributes to the “bad guys” and their fights against the rebels. Now the Dark Side fans of LEGO have their own Bible: LEGO Star Wars The Dark Side (Uncover the secrets of the Siths).

As usual, in the front cover of the book there is a minifigure related to the theme of the book. In this case we can find the Emperor Palpatine with the Eyes corrupted by the dark side Power, after fighting with Jedi Mace Windu.

There are 3 chapters in the Book, a Chronological walk throught the 6 episodes of the Saga:

In each chapter you can find the Allies and Enemies of the Dark Side, with explanations of the Characters, and descriptions of weapons, starfighters, vehicles and other objects related to the bad guys, and some of the more important battles along the history of that Galaxy far, far away…

Like other DK Books, there are tips, Data files and very nice pictures of everything explained in the book. Some of the images come from the Star Wars LEGO movies published in DVD, and other are reproduced in special made displays, not to complex, or Digital Edited pictures, to reproduce something similar than the real movies.

There is a fun page that allows you to see which kind of Star Wars Fan you are depending on which decissions you take. You can be from a Jedi Knight to a Lord Sith. I’m not going to say my result… :)

Like all DK Books it is a good retrospective to the LEGO sets and minifigs and it is recommended to all fans of the Dark Side, and LEGO Star Wars. The minifigure is a good addition, but perhaps it’s not something that helps you to take the decission to buy it. It would be different if the minifigure was a variation of Darth Vader. Then I am sure that it would helped to sell better the book.

Thanks to LEGO CEE Team.
