The LEGO Movie: The Essential Guide is a book focused in the movie depicted in the title. This is a guide of many of the elements and characters we can see in the LEGO movie. The content of the 64 pages of this book is written mainly for young audience, but could be useful for those adults who want to know more things about the movie, or simply to live again some of the stills of the movie.

The book follows the plot of the movie to show the reader the main locations, characters and storyline situations. Furthermore, there is some extra content to go one step beyond in the knowledge of the movie. On one hand there is description of some of the locations: Bricksburg, Octan Tower, Cloud Cuco Land or The Think Tank, with graphical information and some details depicted on them. On the other hand, we have a small presentation of the main characters: Emmet, Wyldstyle, Lord Business, Bad Cop/Good Cop, Vitruvius, Batman, Unikity, Benny and Metalbeard, each one with a brief description and some extra information. There is also some pages dedicated to some of the main plot situations of the movie, like the Prophecy, A day in the life of Emmet, the Assembly of the Master Builders or the life in Bricksburg. They are all intended to be a guide of the main features shown in the movie.

But we have another contents about the “making of” of the movie, which allow the reader to know some details of the movie and the ideas behind it. And, there are some games to identify the reader’s skills with the ones of the main characters, or to show the reader’s creative skills.

In short, this is a book that explores the main features of The LEGO Movie. It is written for a child aged readers, in a comic style, very easy to be followed. The book has a predominant graphical appearance, with many pictures. Most of the main LEGO models used in the movie are depicted within, including those ones that have been released as official LEGO sets. This is the guide for all the fans of the LEGO movie, but basically for younger ones.
