Review 21018 United Nations Headquarters

It’s here!! one of the most desired sets, from the, not always, appreciated LEGO® Architecture line. Line Architecture has the peculiarity of not being spectacular in terms of greatness, but it is a very interesting line in the LEGO® world, given the difficulty of representing microscale architectural buildings and icons, and that is why is also part of the assortment of the magazine articles.

The set that is going to be commented in this article is the United Nations Headquarters (21018), the box is the classic in Architecture series, black, with the building on the front cover and with face opening. The box has five bags of parts, three plates 16x8 dark bluish gray and the instruction book, which like in the other series sets, includes notes and interesting facts about the building.

The construction is simple in technique, but has a "thing" about the size of the parts, because they are mostly tiles and plates, giving an important value to this type of construction, as the great advantage that you can get from these parts can be seen.

The 16x8 plates are for the set’s base, and from there, the construction starts layer by layer, with the exception of the main building with windows, which is built in three blocks of several layers each one. And as a grand finale…the details of the flagpoles, simply great!!

The most interesting is the technique to construct the triangular shape of the assembly building, due it is made reducing the thickness by less than 1/3 each time. Another interesting aspect of this set is the number of 1x2 trans-clear light blue plates it has, a very useful parts for many constructions, including rivers in MILS system, for example… jejejeje.
