Set Review ➟ 41006 Downtown Bakery

We have had the opportunity to build one of the new sets of the Friends theme. After the success achieved by this theme at its debut last year, it was clear that LEGO would not pass up the opportunity to launch a new series of sets to complete Heartlake City. Among all the sets of this year, some of which are very original, we have had a look at the 41006 Downtown Bakery set.

As the name suggests we are looking at the bakery run by Mia. As characters, along with Mia, the set includes Danielle, which already allows some gameplay by interacting with the two characters, as baker and customer.

This corner building sits on a 16x16 plate, and we have to highlight the great amount of detail included. On the inside we can find the counter that includes a telephone and a cash register, a window with a couple of pies and a revolving display with a wedding cake.

Outside there are a few flowers and a fire hydrant. The building itself stands out for the two windows and the door covered by awnings in the new colors that has made this theme famous among AFOLS. The design is nice and easy to build. The only thing I would change in the design is the gap behind the sign (sticker) that is located on the awning over the door. It is an unsightly gap and it is easy to cover.

Aside from the main building, the set includes an oven and a display case located outside the building. It's certainly what I disliked the most. If you design a building that is open from behind and without a roof for easy playing, it should be large enough so that all items can fit inside and allow a full play experience. Placing them on the outside was a little bit disappointing.

In short, a good set of medium size to expand your city of Friends, that will be the delight of all due to the large number of details which allow a great play experience.
